Walton Global, a real estate investment and land asset management company, has finalized the sale of nearly 340 acres in Duggan Ranch, a site designated for residential development in northeast Edmonton, Alberta. The land was sold to Qualico Communities, a company specializing in homebuilding and land development.
Part of the Marquis Master Plan, Duggan Ranch is set to accommodate over 1,700 new single-family homes, along with 24 acres dedicated to commercial and multifamily development. The area will also feature green spaces, multiuse trails, playgrounds, and other community amenities.
Located in one of Edmonton’s key urban growth areas, Duggan Ranch is adjacent to the Edmonton Energy and Technology Park, a significant employment hub within Alberta’s Industrial Heartland. This proximity is expected to drive demand for housing as the area continues to grow, with plans to create 80,000 to 100,000 jobs in various industries.
Rob Nixon, Walton Global's senior vice president of real estate, commented “The unparalleled location immediately adjacent to large current and future employment areas in both Alberta’s Industrial Heartland and the EETP is a key driver for growth.” Residents will benefit from easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment, as well as natural features like the North Saskatchewan River valley.
Duggan Ranch joins the larger Marquis community, which has already seen significant development under Qualico. Walton Global has a strong presence in Edmonton, managing over 3,500 acres and continuing to support the city’s growth. Earlier this year, Walton also closed on land sales in Central Florida and near Austin, Texas.
Walton Global is a privately-owned land asset management and real estate investment firm with over 90,000 acres under management across the U.S. and Canada, with a total value of $4.37 billion. The company has distributed $2.5 billion to investors in 86 countries over its 45-year history.
