Leadership Appointment Becomes Official
BigBear.ai has named Sean Ricker as its Chief Financial Officer, effective October 14, 2025. He had been serving in the role on an interim basis since June. Now, with the appointment finalized, Ricker takes on the full responsibilities of the CFO position—bringing with him years of internal leadership experience and a track record that spans both corporate finance and consulting.
His new role comes with a clear compensation structure. Ricker will receive a $420,000 base salary and a target bonus equal to 100% of that amount. The compensation plan also includes 200,000 Restricted Stock Units, split evenly over a two-year vesting schedule.
Starting in 2025, he's set to receive recurring annual equity grants—subject to committee approval—designed to align with his base pay. These awards may include:
- Restricted stock units
- Performance stock units
- Stock options
- Other long-term incentive vehicles
Background and Continuing Role
Ricker’s background is deeply rooted in the company’s finance organization. Before stepping in as interim CFO, he was BigBear.ai’s Chief Accounting Officer from August 2022 through June 2025, following a stint as Corporate Controller starting in 2021. His experience also includes leadership at MorganFranklin Consulting, where he worked before joining the company.
He continues to serve as BigBear.ai’s principal accounting officer, maintaining continuity across both financial reporting and executive oversight. There were no external arrangements behind his promotion, and no family ties among current directors or officers.
Terms and Governance
The company’s board approved the appointment following an offer letter signed earlier in October. That agreement, now filed with the SEC, outlines the terms and confirms his ongoing participation in the company’s broader benefits and executive compensation programs.
BigBear.ai is aligning its leadership structure with long-term priorities, and this appointment reflects a clear step in that direction. With Ricker officially in place, the company brings consistency and experience to its financial leadership team.
