DarioHealth Appoints New Board Member Amid Leadership Change

Healthcare industry veteran joins board as company strengthens strategic direction.

February 28, 2025

DarioHealth is expanding its leadership team with the appointment of Lawrence Leisure to its board of directors. Effective February 25, 2025, the move adds deep industry expertise at a time when the company is focused on growth.

Extensive Industry Experience

Leisure brings decades of experience in healthcare, private equity, and technology-driven services. As co-founder and managing partner of Chicago Pacific Founders, he has worked across senior living, value-based care, and provider services. His background includes leadership roles at Accenture, UnitedHealth Group, and venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins, along with board positions at several private and publicly traded companies.

Existing Ties to DarioHealth

Leisure’s appointment also comes with an existing connection to DarioHealth. He is a member of NearWater Growth, an investment and consulting firm that has advised the company since 2021. Under a recently amended agreement, NearWater will receive a monthly retainer and stock-based compensation tied to business milestones. As a NearWater member, Leisure will directly benefit from these arrangements.

Leadership Transition

At the same time, DarioHealth is seeing a shift in board composition. Jon Kaplan resigned from his position on February 24, 2025. The company confirmed his departure was voluntary and unrelated to any disagreements over operations or governance.

Positioning for Growth

With its latest board addition, DarioHealth is reinforcing its strategic focus in digital health. By bringing in leadership with a track record in healthcare investment and innovation, the company is positioning itself to drive future expansion.
