Revenue and User Growth Drive Momentum
Hapi Health wrapped up 2023 with serious momentum. Revenue more than doubled year-over-year, active users jumped 150%, and the company sharpened its focus on new opportunities in the employer-sponsored health benefits space.
The platform is built to incentivize better health outcomes. Users earn rewards—think cash or premium credits—when they hit their health goals. These goals are personalized, tracked through Hapi’s app, and synced with data from wearables and other health sources. The experience is designed to meet users where they are, with rewards that drive real engagement.
A key milestone last year was onboarding a Blue Cross Blue Shield licensee with over 100,000 users. That one client played a major role in pushing revenue to $8.6 million, up from $3.5 million in 2022. The broader client base now includes 25 health plans and more than 226,000 active users. Retention held strong, too—more than 80% of users stuck with the platform over a 12-month stretch.
Hapi’s value goes beyond engagement. The data showed that users who met their goals were more than twice as likely to renew their insurance. That stat matters to carriers, and it’s a big reason why Hapi’s model is gaining traction.
Shifting Toward Enterprise Health Benefits
As the company scales, it’s shifting gears to bring its health engagement tools into the employer market. Late last year, Hapi rolled out a new enterprise platform tailored to HR teams and benefits administrators. Employers can now set up and manage engagement programs with more control and flexibility, while keeping the user experience seamless.
Investments in Technology and Infrastructure
Behind the scenes, Hapi invested in the infrastructure to support this expansion. That includes:
- Improvements in plan design automation
- A broader incentive library
- Tighter integrations with wearable devices
These updates are all about giving users a clearer path to better outcomes—and helping clients drive results at scale.
Looking Ahead
The company ended the year with 40 full-time employees and open roles across product, engineering, and client success. With strong user growth, solid retention, and a pipeline that now includes both insurers and employers, Hapi is entering 2024 with a clear roadmap and room to grow.
