Audit Firm Merger Triggers Swift Transition

When a major audit firm merges, companies need to move quickly to adapt. That’s exactly what Presidio Property Trust did following the merger of Moss Adams LLP with Baker Tilly US, LLP. As of June 3, 2025, the combined audit practice now operates under the Baker Tilly name.

Presidio acted on the same day the merger took effect. Moss Adams stepped down as the company’s auditor, and the Audit Committee of Presidio’s Board approved Baker Tilly as the new independent public accounting firm. The handoff wasn’t reactive—it was procedural. Moss Adams had recently completed its audit of Presidio’s 2024 financials, and there were no flagged issues, disagreements, or concerns around accounting policies, disclosures, or audit procedures.

Clean Transition with No Consultation Required

From start to finish, the transition stayed smooth. Presidio didn’t seek advice or input from Baker Tilly before the appointment:

  • Not on how accounting principles would apply to specific transactions

  • Not on the type of audit opinion the firm might issue

  • Not on any potential disagreements or reportable events

That’s important context, especially when auditor changes sometimes raise questions about underlying issues. Here, the path was clear and direct.

Confirmation Letter Filed with SEC

Before filing the 8-K with the SEC, Presidio shared a draft with Moss Adams and requested a formal response. Moss Adams responded with a letter dated June 5, 2025, confirming the details and agreeing with the company’s account of events. That letter is now part of the official record.

Looking Ahead

This change reflects a broader industry trend—firms are consolidating, and companies are adjusting in real time. Presidio’s move ensures continuity in its audit process, with Baker Tilly stepping in to maintain oversight without missing a beat.
