Leadership Addition Reflects Longstanding Company Ties
Silver Star Properties REIT, Inc. is adding a familiar face to its boardroom. On July 24, 2025, the company appointed Michael A. Racusin as an independent director. The move follows his resignation as an advisor to the board and assistant corporate secretary, marking a new phase in his ongoing relationship with the firm.
Racusin knows the company well. From May 2021 through January 2024, he served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary. In that role, he led legal strategy across Silver Star and its affiliates, helping the company navigate regulatory and transactional matters during a pivotal period.
Today, Racusin serves as Chief Legal Officer at Disrupt Equity, a private equity and real estate investment firm focused on multifamily acquisitions. His work there blends legal oversight with operational execution, giving him a sharp view into what it takes to scale within real estate markets.
Career Highlights and Legal Credentials
Before joining Silver Star, Racusin built a career around high-level corporate legal work. At Luby’s Inc., a publicly traded hospitality company, he advanced from associate roles to General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. He also helped launch EnergyFunders.com, where he took on dual responsibilities as General Counsel and Chief Information Officer for the energy investment platform.
Racusin holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. He’s licensed to practice law in Texas and has used that foundation to support business growth across several industries.
This appointment reflects Silver Star’s ongoing effort to strengthen its board with leadership that understands both the company’s internal dynamics and the broader real estate investment landscape. Racusin brings that blend—legal expertise, operational knowledge, and prior company experience—all of which position him to contribute from day one.
