Strategic Student & Senior Housing Trust Announces Results of 2025 Shareholder Meeting

On June 26, Strategic Student & Senior Housing Trust held its 2025 annual shareholder meeting. The agenda was straightforward—elect three directors and ratify the company’s accounting firm. Shareholders showed strong alignment with both proposals, reinforcing the company’s leadership and audit structure for the coming year.

Directors Re-elected with Majority Support

Three directors—H. Michael Schwartz, Brent Chappell, and Stephen G. Muzzy—were all re-elected to the board. Each received over 6.2 million votes in favor, with withheld votes ranging from roughly 793,000 to 825,000. These directors will continue serving until the next annual meeting, or until successors are formally appointed.

This vote signals that shareholders are on board with the current direction of the company. Strategic Student & Senior Housing Trust operates in a space where demographic trends play a key role, and stable leadership allows the firm to stay focused on its mission: managing real estate in student and senior housing markets with precision and discipline.

Audit Partner Reaffirmed for 2025

Shareholders also approved the continued engagement of BDO USA, P.C. as the company’s independent registered public accounting firm. The vote came in at approximately 6.31 million in favor, with about 301,000 against and 476,000 abstaining.

BDO’s reappointment ensures consistency in the company’s financial oversight. That consistency matters—especially when reliable reporting and audit practices help guide operational and investment decisions over the next twelve months.

Clear Outcomes, Continued Focus

The outcome of the vote provides a clear message: shareholders want the current team in place. With directors re-elected and the audit partner locked in, Strategic Student & Senior Housing Trust moves forward without disruption. The team can now stay focused on execution—navigating specialized real estate segments while managing for both opportunity and risk.

Leadership continuity, paired with an established accounting relationship, helps keep decision-making aligned and responsive. As demographic demand in both student and senior housing markets continues to evolve, the company is positioned to meet those shifts head-on—without missing a beat.
